Linthorpe Surgery is the largest practice in Middlesbrough with 9 GP partners, 2 Nurse Practitioners, an advanced physiotherapist, 4 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs and a superb group of highly committed and enthusiastic administrative and reception staff.  We are a well-established training practice with 3 post—graduate trainers, a foundation doctor trainer and we host large numbers of Newcastle University medical students.   We’re situated close to the town centre with a branch surgery in North Ormesby and a list size of over 19,000.

The practice is a member of Holgate Primary Care Network.  Within our PCN team we have support from social prescribers, pharmacists, enhanced care home practitioners, mental health practitioners, safeguarding lead and care co-ordinators.

We are a stable, higher-earning and forward- thinking practice with a rich and varied skill set amongst the partnership including paediatrics, surgery, academic research, teaching and public health. Our outside commitments include Funding Panel, CCG leads, Clinical Director for Holgate PCN and the Head of GP teaching at Newcastle University. We have enjoyed the benefits of a low turnover of partners and work well as a team – we even socialise and get together in our spare time!
